Windsor Circle to Pitch to Investors at Google Demo Day

Durham startup Windsor Circle earns chance to pitch their automated retention marketing platform to investors at Google for Entrepreneurs’ Demo Day in April.

DURHAM, NC – March 25, 2014 – Digital marketing company Windsor Circle has been selected to pitch their Retention Marketing Automation software for e-commerce retailers at Google for Entrepreneurs’ inaugural Demo Day on April 2, one of only 10 startups nationwide. Windsor Circle Co-Founder and CEO, Matt Williamson, will travel to Google’s Silicon Valley offices to meet and present his pitch to a group of over 100 prospective investors from cities around the U.S.

To earn the esteemed opportunity, Windsor Circle prevailed in the preliminary round of the contest against more than 50 companies from Google for Entrepreneurs tech hubs across North America. Google tech hub American Underground, which has two locations in Durham and one in Raleigh, held the pre-selection event.

  • To celebrate this exciting accomplishment, Windsor Circle with be celebrating on March 26 from 4 - 5:50 pm. These festivities will include American Underground, who head the building where Windsor Circle works, as well as Automated Insights, the other Durham company chosen to pitch at Google Demo Day. Return Party on April 11

  • Startup Journey Party and Open House will include reflections from the pitch at Google Demo Day, as well as a chance to hear what the investors heard! AS part of Paradoxos (PDXS), a festival of events celebrating the power of ideas, bringing together local entrepreneurs, investors, scientists, artists, musicians, chefs and just about everybody in-between. This party will celebrate the return of the Windsor Circle team who attended Google Demo Day, as well as serve as a party to celebrate the journey that all startups are on. This event is open to Windsor Circle family, friends, investors, supporters, and the public at-large.  Please RSVP here to secure your spot.

Addressing the rigorous selection process, Adam Klein, chief strategist at American Underground, remarks, “We worked with partners at CED, Duke University, Groundwork Labs, NC IDEA, RTP, and The Startup Factory to identify the top companies in the area that could not only hold their own at this event but earn substantial investments. We like our chances.”

The tournament-style Demo Day competition will take place at Google’s global headquarters in Mountain View, California. Each participant will have just five minutes to present their company’s products and services, followed by a Q&A session with a panel of renowned judges that includes AOL founder Steve Case and Google Ventures partner M.G. Siegler. In addition to participants potentially securing venture investments, an overall winner of the competition will be selected and prizes awarded.

The Demo Day event on April 2 will be live-streamed on Google’s YouTube channel, and American Underground will host a viewing party from 1-3 p.m. at their Main Street location in Durham.
